That's right! Lisa and Justin are expecting a rough-and-tumble boy to arrive around the New Year. After being a part of their engagement and wedding in 2008, we're thrilled to be a part of their new adventure—to continue capturing bits of their lives.
We went to a new location for this session, one with a mixture of playgrounds, concrete, river views, nature, city buildings, and the thrills of a scavenger hunt—except we were searching for lovely backgrounds and images instead of a list of objects. We all had a good time, and Dan and I can't wait to meet their little one. If you missed their sneak peek a couple weeks ago, those images are included here, too.

I wanted to stop by and give a little sneak peek of the session I'm editing right now. After photographing Lisa and Justin's wedding in the fall of 2008, it was exciting to meet up with them again for their next journey in life. They're expecting a baby boy at the beginning of January! Perhaps he'll be a New Year's baby—perhaps we should take a poll on the due date. :)
I'll post more of the session after we premiere it to L&J next weekend. In the meantime, check out how adorrrrrrable Lisa is, especially with all the wind we had during the session.

Last week I explained a bit about the group of friends that are connected to Dan, and you got to meet Aaron and Susan. This week, you get to meet another adorable couple from the group. In fact, their two due dates are only days apart, so it'll be interesting to see who arrives first.
Meet Joe, Maura, and their baby boy...
Getting Joe to smile naturally was a feat in itself, so getting him mid-laugh was like a triple score. I'm not sure what we were talking about here—probably something about making sure he ends up on Awkward Family Photos in 20 years.
I'm glad that Maura wanted some bare belly shots during the session. We were losing sunlight fast, but we got a couple cute ones. Sorry internet, but this is as revealing as it gets for you...

I'm not sure I've thought much about it before, but I married into a good-looking group of friends. I really did. Some of them grew up and went to school with Dan, while others met through college or other avenues. And now that a few of the couples are expecting, I'm sure their little ones will be too cute for words.
One such couple, Aaron and Susan, had a maternity session with us over the weekend. Let me tell you—I can only hope for an ounce of the glow, peace, and beauty that Susan has. Their little girl is only about a month from being due, and they won't share her name yet, but we're all really excited for her arrival.
